Airbus beating Boeing on 2024 commercial aircraft deliveries
Airbus has delivered nearly twice as many commercial aircraft to customers this year compared to Boeing.
The latest figures released by Airbus show that it made 67 deliveries to 40 customers in June, bringing the total for the first half of the year to 323 aircraft delivered to 65 customers.
It also added its order book is strong with 73 gross orders made during June.
This compares favourably with Boeing, which has released its own figures for the second quarter (Q2) showing it has delivered 92 commercial aircraft during the period, bringing the total number to 175 for the year.
Of the deliveries in Q2, Boeing said 70 of the aircraft were 737s, six were 767s, seven were 777s and a further nine were 787s.
Over the first half of the year, the new figures show Boeing has delivered 137 737s, nine 767s, seven 777s and 22 787s.
In addition, Boeing has released the figures for defence, space and security deliveries, revealing the delivery of three new AH-64 Apaches alongside seven remanufactured AH-64 Apaches.
A single new CH-47 Chinook left the factory floor alongside four renewed CH-47 Chinooks, while six F-15, and three F/A-18 models.
In addition, two KC-46 Tankers were delivered as well as the same number of P-8 models, bringing the total number of defence, space and security aircraft delivered to 28.
